Couple and family counselling for intercultural couples and families
In Familia’s counselling, we can identify factors that affect the well-being of intercultural families. You can contact us, for example in matters related to relationships, parenthood, raising children or divorce and stepfamilies. Our support is culturally sensitive and respectful of the views of intercultural families. Counselling has a solution-oriented approach. The aim is to find new perspectives, identify the couple’s and family’s own resources, and guide them to their reinforcement through discussion and dialogue.
The aim of the counselling may be, for example, to improve the conversational skills and connection of spouses, to find new solutions or to strengthen family interaction. You can come to the counselling alone or together even if the relationship has ended. In this case, concerns related to separation can be considered (not including legal advice). If necessary, we can help you to find other services and support suitable for your family’s situation.
Couple and family counselling includes approximately 1–3 face-to-face or online meetings and is free of charge. Counselling is currently available in Finnish, English and Spanish. You can sign up for couple and family counselling by filling in the contact form. We aim to respond to contacts as soon as possible, no later than within 2 working days (during holidays, response times may be extended).
